The cycle will take place on Saturday, May 30 2015 and participants will cover a distance of 230 km in the one day challenge. Three food stops will be provided as cyclists travel across the Midlands. Participants will leave from Malahide Strand, Dublin, and head for Galway Bay! Read a full description of the route here.
Participants planning on taking part will have to raise a minimum of €150 through sponsorship and this will all go directly to St Joseph’s Foundation while other fundraisers will be organised to subsidise the cost of the cycle for the cyclists. Each cyclist will receive a Better Life Cycle Bay to Bay 2015 Jersey.
At the launch of the Bay to Bay event, the committee members toured St Joseph’s Foundation and it really brought home how much this fundraising means to the people who use the services of the foundation. Meeting those who use the services and seeing the facilities first hand was an emotive day for the committee, as it gave them a true insight into what the money raised will be going towards and how it will truly change people’s lives.
The committee hope that people will support the 2015 event, as the support from the first event was a true show of community spirit and peoples’ willingness to lend a hand and give what they could for a good cause.
